- FIRST MOVEMENT. Even the wild drums opening this movement cannot
prepare the listeners for the magnificent piano entrance. Yes this
opening surpasses all other openings in all my concertos. Truly the
pianist has to be a fantastic player. The wild but difficult cords and
scales and passages where the pianist has 3/8 time in the R/H and 3/4
time in the L/H. It will keep the listeners captivated, as each bar
proves that the impossible here becomes possible.
SCORE
- G-SPOT BAGATELLE. Mmmm.... Well you'll just have to hear this movement for piano solo.
- SONG OF PERPETUAL MYSTERY. In this movement the piano seems to be
constantly searching for something new, or something to style on.
Giving the listeners the feeling that the right note, the right cord,
is coming in the next beat or bar.
- Explosive like the first movement, never giving the listeners a
dull moment.
- The last movement gives the pianist some more difficult timings.
There are passages where the pianist plays 5/16 with R/H and 2/4
with L/H. Nothing again prepares the listeners for the last 43 bars
that brings this concerto to a fantastically wild sudden end.
