STRING QUARTET # 1
OP.165

Consists of:(1) Violin, (1) Viola, (1) Cello, (1) Double Bass.
Replacing the second Violin with the Double Bass, we now have  four individual instruments, each one of different size, register, and character in sounds. The addition of the Double Bass, extends the quartets register to 6 octaves, from the Double Bass low E to the Violins high E.
  1. FOUR OPENING BARS WILL SHOW THAT THE STRING QUARTET WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. As the score shows. the quartets new six (6) Octive register. From the low E string of the Double Bass, to the violins high E note on the E String. SCORE
  2. Second Movement: played a little slower, and each instrument has its own meter. Violin playing in 4/4 time. As the Viola plays rotating in 2/4 and 3/4 time. The Cello in 1/4 time and the Double Bass in 5/4 time. Both Movements a challenge for the players and listeners. SCORE
  3. Third  Movement: The complete movement is in 1/4 time and each bar has (3) three eight notes, played as triplets. SCORE
  4. Fourth movement is the slowest movement. Consisting of whole notes only. Another form of "PURERISM MUSIC". SCORE
  5. Fifth movement - Lithuanian Dance  SCORE
  6. Sith movement - Composed in the shadows of minimalism.  SCORE
  7. Seventh movement
    "THE SUNSET MOVEMENT" is in two (2) sections.
    First part is titled:
    1) "EVERYTHING IN LIFE HAS IT'S OWN SUNSET".
    Second part is titled:
    2)"THERE IS NO SUNSET MORE BEAUTIFUL AND CALM THAN THE ONE THAT SETS IN CAMBRIA'S WET ARMS"  SCORE
